The noisy world (the stuff you hear and read on a regular basis) is awash in words, phrases, and terminology that serves as a trendy means of capturing our attention. Literary scholars have to be stunned at the overusage of these things. I mean, come the fuck on, everything can’t actually be classified as full blown awesomeness! Granularity is the word that comes to mind for how things should be emphasized and described. There’s over 650,000 goddamned words in the English language, spread that shit around every once in a while. Language is tied to so much about human beings, it’s important to use it to our advantage, and not our detriment. The words we use to describe our experiences shape our perceptions of not only the world around us, but ourselves as well. The feedback loop from our thoughts to our words has lifted us above and beyond all other species of animals on the planet. Good and Great are no competition for Fabulous and Awesome, but if there’s no graduation of their purpose, they simply fall to opposite ends of an extremely diverse spectrum of options.
“From the minds of dreamers...”
Maybe we just have so many more opportunities to construct situations, where these words come into play. Hardly a moment goes by for those swirling around in this lexicographers cocktail, where we’re not exposed to a stream of words. Does that somehow numb the mind from frequency of occurrences? Regardless, it’s a reflection of our ever changing social situation. Complexity doesn’t begin to define the incredibly diverse circumstances surrounding 2017. The transformation from just a half a century ago is beyond generational in scope and dynamics. We just verified this summer, the speed of the universe’s expansion, 43 miles per second. Like it or not, we’re moving right along.
“Creativity in the obvious...”
Capturing a person’s attention, without speaking to the notion within their depth, is merely a distraction. Pairing the words with a feeling gives life to writing. Skipping that across the lives of others delivers an experience like no other. Assignment of language to emotions is very much the root to self. Finding yourself without the words for who you imagine yourself to be can lend to insecurity about ones self. The voice we exhibit about ourselves to ourselves is a powerful messenger of who we are. #self
