"The Business..."
I watch my daughter work from her laptop sitting at the counter on the island in the kitchen. Definitely reminds me of the inadequacies in my functional capacities with the exact same devices. I too own a MacBook and iPhone, but use them for completely different tasks. She builds content and conveys idea's to her organization for purposes of marketing and subsequent increases in future revenue. Mine serves as a work portal to the systems my firm uses to facilitate our value proposition, and allows for me to search and gather information to support the stories I deliver to the client experience.
"Today we're both working from home...because, the allergy season has a fucking chokehold on the two of us"
We both sound like warmed over shit, but without any signs of fever or infection. Noses running, horse scratchy throats, nagging intermittent cough, that kind of warmed over shit. Nevertheless, it's time spent together, and the moments are valued. We have four children between the two merged previous families, and all of them occupy their special place within the umbrella of the new family. After fifteen years, they tolerate one another, and realize this isn't an experiment. I pray the two boys someday attain the level of responsibility their respective sisters have already achieved, but only time will tell. In the meantime, even as I fight to shrug off the adversity of another allergy season, I feel blessed within for being a part of something special...family.
