Comparisons between our lives and moments and other lives and times is a big aspect of the individualist culture. Where could Homo Sapiens be if we could somehow reduce our fascination with how we rank? Maybe it's that constant ranking that enables us to raise the overall level of progress, given our social leverage over all other species. How others perceive us is major attribute to the human condition. Appearance casts the reflection for our status, and possibly even our intentions. Look at how the phenomenon of Facebook has rocketed to the tune of 2.5 billion people per month. Social Media thrives off of the idea that attention is a competition.
We fight against inequality, yet there's no signs of it ending. We preach to the masses about the favored attributes of a compassionate wholesome life, then turn to judge and condemn those, who don't prescribe to our specific point of view. We adorn praise to people based upon their physical appearance, because somewhere within us, we cry out to look like them, so we can feel just as special. Homo Sapiens are in many respects, a living contradiction of ego and the subsequent morale dilemma, of how much we truly care about our place in the universe.

My favorite comparisons are those which somehow hope to link generational conformity. Homo Sapiens from any distinct period of time, are only biologically comparable to other periods of time. Socially, specifics of immediate environments dominate perspectives and behaviors. Contexts shift across different periods of time, and the resulting comparisons are virtually useless. Yet, enter a conversation with an older person, and they'll give you an earful of how things were in their day. Acceptance that your time has passed is a scary motherfucker! Whenever your memories grow larger than your dreams, your progress in life has halted. All you have left is the frustration over all the regrets of what you didn't accomplish. Sound familiar?
We are not our emotions, our emotions are just another biological system within the myriad of intricate complex systems making up all Homo Sapiens. Stop using your imagination to continually reconstruct the past. That shit is over, now let the fuck go. Read some goddamned books for fucks sake. 70% of newly published books never get read, yet the Kardashian's can't fart without a Twitter explosion. Learn something new, and you can't help but grow as an individual, then someday you won't have to wish you were something else. Stop spending so much time on social media...try actually living your life😎
