There's a new movement coming to town folks, as my daughter and I push for a new narrative to push for real change. Being a son, husband, father, uncle, brother, cousin, grandfather, and friend to many wonderful women in my life, it suggests I should help support their recovery to their rightful status. This story of displacement in so many cultures is a long and complex one, with roots in circumstances many centuries ago. The advent of capitalism has amplified this disparaging shift in attitudes towards women, combined with the malicious undermining of the Catholic Church from the Inquisition Period, women have literally had to claw their way back to where they sit today, which still falls far short of the true value they represent. Today they march across the world to be heard loud and clear, and I fully support that message.
This movement is absent of political ideology, because that represents a totally different mess. The message behind this story drives towards the conversations we have on a daily basis, and the uplifting changes that comes along with pursuing a better outcome by shifting the dialogue that happens with our children. The manner in which we engage and teach our children about their gender and sexuality has a profound affect on the way they view not only themselves, but others as well. The mere fact female genitalia are associated with weakness, and males strength is enough to demand we shift the rhetoric in a different direction. This ideological bullshit driven by the myths of a cultural understanding from half a millennia ago has to stop here and now!
My purpose here is not politically motivated in any way, both parties are accountable for the mess surrounding our society today, as are all the motionless observers of the past surviving decades, me included. "If you know something is wrong, and you sit idly by without action...you are part of the problem!" It's pretty fucking simple folks, if you truly believe in a better life for everyone, you need to believe the standards we hold true today must change. Let's start with gender equality and then move to the other fucked up differentiations we use to hold other homo sapiens beneath where we view ourselves.
